As you may know, the two-part Zoning By-law Amendments and Draft Plan of Subdivision application for 36 & 37 Jane Osler Boulevard and 42 & 44 Cartwright Avenue has been in review for the last few years.
Over the years, we have used community input to drastically reduce the size and impact of this proposal. The current proposal looks to build eight detached homes on Jane Osler Boulevard. On January 16th 2018, the North York Community Council (NYCC) discussed this application, deferring the final decision to City Council at the end of January 2018.
In further review of this application, I have asked City Planning Staff to meet with the applicant to finalize discussions about the proposal's community impacts. Additionally, I also moved two motions adopted by the NYCC.
I asked Planning Staff to conduct a lot study on local residential streets in the neighbourhood to discourage lot severances and similar developments in the area.
In addition, my request was approved to review noise and vibration attenuation measures and report to City Council at its next meeting on January 31st 2018.
