Dear Friends,
I'm pleased to report that City Council unanimously adopted my motion to officially commemorate the significant contributions of community activist Dudley Laws.

The motion recommends that City Staff consult and collaborate with Dudley Laws' family and the Black Action Defense Committee (BADC) to identify and report back on naming opportunities in Toronto, and how to best officially recognize and commemorate Dudley Laws' important contributions to Toronto.
Dudley Laws worked tirelessly to end youth violence, support Toronto's cultural diversity, and empower Toronto's Black community. Giving official civic recognition to the important work he has done for Torontonians is long overdue, and I'm pleased that City Council unanimously passed my motion to commemorate Dudley Laws' invaluable contributions.
For this and other City-related matters or questions, please email councillor_colle@toronto.ca or call 416-392-4027.
Sincerely,
Josh Colle
City Councillor, Ward 15 Eglinton-Lawrence
