Through a partnership between the TTC and the City of Toronto Arts and Culture and community partners Arts for Children and Youth and Children’s Peace Theatre, four new murals were unveiled on construction hoarding (temporary fencing) outside the Woodbine and Coxwell stations--a beautiful improvement to our streetscape.
Last week, I joined Julie Frost, Executive and Artistic Director of Arts for Children and Youth, to celebrate the official unveiling of their “Welcome 41” murals. The murals, which were painted by more than 500 children and youth throughout Ontario, are designed to celebrate and welcome international spectators, athletes, coaches and other officials Toronto for the TO2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games. The beautiful works of art will be displayed in various subway stations and at Pearson International Airport throughout the games. A special thank you to Ward 15's own Flemington Public School and Maria A. Shdhuka Library for their participation in this engaging work. For more information, visit afcy.ca.
