On May 29, 2013, Council approved the proposal for a seven storey, mid rise building, with 29 dwelling units and 14 parking spaces with ground-floor commercial at 2270-2280 Eglinton Ave West. As the new planning study for Eglinton has brought forward new possibilities for this site, the owner may decide to change the plan that was previously approved, however, should they do so, there will be further community consultation.

At the community consultation for this application on Thursday, January 10, 2013, residents voiced serious concern over pre-existing parking issues. In light of this, I have taken steps to ensure that future residents of this building will not be eligible to hold parking permits on neighbouring streets. I am also working with City Transportation Staff to explore other options to address these existing parking pressures. A final report and public meeting to consider this application is targeted for June, 2013.
